February's fab fashion, eyewear and fragrance billboards around L.A...

This month I've been dodging rain showers and trying to avoid foggy and cloudy conditions to get these billboard shots, but it's been a tad tricky. Nevertheless the new season fashion billboards have been coming thick and fast throughout February, so here's the best of the bunch for you all to enjoy.

Fashion billboards

One of my favourite fashion-related outdoor ads this month was this Bookmarc billboard, for the fashion designer's posh bookstore also filled with Marc Jacobs accessories (obviously the fact it features a bow-tie wearing dog may have caught my eye the most).

Another personal favourite was this special extension billboard for the new Perry Ellis Spring 2015 collection. The film and TV industries tend to use this type of billboard gimmick frequently, but it's not often you see fashion ads trying something different, which is why this back-flipping billboard stands out so much along the Sunset Strip.

Another billboard bringing the drama this month was this vibrant creative for Gucci's Spring looks featuring Malgosia Bela.

Whilst this new Spring 2015 blue gingham Guess billboard was sporting the fresh face of Gigi Hadid.

Superstar DJ Calvin Harris was the new face of Emporio Armani this month, although let's face it we're all waiting for the ad creatives featuring less clothing to show of his fine physique.

And speaking of celebrity ambassadors for a fashion brand, Amy Adams was back in the skies looking timelessly beautiful for MaxMara this February.

Calvin Klein Collection had this serene ad creative for their sophisticated new Spring looks for their most luxurious brand line.

And followed up with another black and white Calvin Klein Jeans billboard featuring the polarising pop star Justin Bieber and female model Lara Stone. be sure to check out the other Justin Bieber Calvin Klein billboard from last month if you're a fan.

This laid back Saint Laurent Paris billboard has been around for a while, but it's an interesting fashion story and unusual for the models not to be facing onlookers.

American fashion model Karlie Kloss works a park bench for Kate Spade's new Spring collection.

And Joe's Jeans aren't afraid to show some skin to highlight their latest denim looks.

Another denim brand, AG Jeans has showcased its wares on highways and fields of grass, but this season freshens things up with a nautical setting.

Turning heads high in the skies of Sunset Plaza this month was this striking billboard for Tom Ford sunglasses, modeled by Daphne Groeneveld. If you like these specs, be sure to check out more stylish Tom Ford Eyewear billboards from previous seasons.

Another designer label showing off their luxurious eyewear this month was Prada with this stylish ad creative.

Plus not to be outdone, Salvatore Ferragamo also had this extra large billboard at Sunset & Vine to show off their designer shades, always a necessity in mostly sunny L.A.

Fragrance billboards

And finally here's a billboard for Perry Ellis latest designer scent for men, Cobalt, although if the fragrance comes in that size bottle you'll only ever need to buy one.

New season TV billboard delights around L.A. in February 2015...

Now that the year is in full swing it means that many TV shows are returning from their midseason breaks and even more new series are launching, hoping to find an audience. Here's a collection of the new and returning show billboards looking to stand out in the city skyline this February.

TV Billboards

The BBC's acclaimed crime drama, The Fall, starring The X-Files Gillian Anderson as a police officer investigating Fifty Shades of Grey's Jamie Dornan's serial killer finally makes it to U.S. shores courtesy of Netflix, and even better you can binge-watch both season all at once.

Speaking of crime shows, here's one about super-powered criminals and the detectives that work the cases. I'm always a sucker for a superhero-themed show so I'm looking forward to Powers, Playstation's first scripted drama adapting the acclaimed comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.

Meanwhile over on Amazon's streaming service, they have adapted Michael Connelly's series of books about 'Harry Bosch' solving crimes in L.A. for the small screen. I've read many of the novels, so I'm keen to see how Titus Welliver portrays the character and how the character is translated to an episodic television show.

ABC's big hopes for the new TV season is their new crime anthology series, American Crime, and these billboards are everywhere around the streets of L.A. at the moment. Following a home invasion which leaves a war veteran dead and his wife hospitalised, both Caucasian, police target Latino and African-American suspects in a drama which deals with racial themes, religion, class and sexuality.

Over on NBC the network adapts an Australian drama of the same name which centres around a gathering of family and friends where one adult hits someone else's child and the repercussions affect all involved, uncovering hidden secrets and lies in this mini-series event

NBC have also been teasing their new conspiracy thriller, Odyssey, for a while with the 'Odelle Lives' campaign, about a female soldier (played by Anna Friel) reported to have been killed in action who is actually alive and involved in an international coverup.

Another conspiracy drama coming this season is USA Network's Dig, starring Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche, which is set in Israel and follows the investigation of a death of a young female archeologist which uncovers unholy age old secrets in the holiest of cities.

Saturday Night Live celebrated its 40th anniversary this year and the funny thing is it was televised on a Sunday for better ratings, ah well the initials SNL still work.

Meanwhile over on the recently renamed Pop channel, Canadian sitcom Schitt's Creek made its debut, about a rich family forced to readjust to less than ideal circumstances when they lose their fortune (my heart bleeds for them).

Speaking of new comedies, Will Forte stars in Fox's The Last Man on Earth this season, as the name suggests adapting to being alone in the world when the usual rules of life don't apply.

Over on Adult Swim, The Jack and Triumph Show parodied Disney's infamous Lady & the Tramp spaghetti-eating scene with this series premiere billboard.

In the world of sports, Epix was following the road to the National Hockey League Stadium Series in an original four-part series.

Whilst on HBO, The Jinx was a new docu-series investigating the life and deaths of Robert Durst. Did he kill his wife and two other people, and if so why is he agreeing to be part of this documentary show?

Plus Vice was back for a third gritty season of groundbreaking, unorthodox journalism on the front lines with this evocative riot police ad creative.

The Night Shift was reporting back for duty with this all-hands-on-deck creative for the after hours medical drama.

And John Oliver was back with the sophomore season of Last Week Tonight and he was really shaking things up for the new season of political commentary and comic observations. Actually he wasn't really changing anything (if it ain't broke) and the comedy pony was just to get your attention - good job!

At the beginning of February Jimmy Fallon brought The Tonight Show to L.A. for a limited engagement (usually based in NYC) and got some billboard support too.

The Following starring Kevin Bacon is back for a third season of cult serial killers, although it's getting more and more preposterous now, but this is the male 'Villain' ad creative is certainly eye-catching, so be sure to also check out the female 'Hero' billboard for season three of The Following and the previous season promo billboards too.

Already renewed for a sixth season starting later this year, Rizzoli & Isles returned to TNT this month to finish off their fifth season of solving crimes in the popular procedural drama.

The Voice is back for an amazing eight season and so is Christina Aguilera as mentor, rejoining Pharrell, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Be sure to check out the other season eight billboards for The Voice shining the spotlight on all the mentors.

And finally, I can hardly watch to binge-watch the third season of the political drama House of Cards. 'Claire and Frank Underwood' look every bit the First Lady and President in this Air Force One ad creative and I can't wait to see what schemes and backstabbing they do on a global scale.

As you can see, there's lots of choice on traditional TV channels and via online streaming platforms, and only time will tell which series succeed and which face cancellation hell.

February's drinks, travel and lifestyle billboards filling L.A.'s skies...

In addition to all the Oscar nominee ad campaigns filling L.A.'s skies this past month, there's also been an eclectic mix of travel, drinks and other lifestyle advertising billboards vying for your attention (and your cash) in February 2015.

Drinks billboards

This month it seems everyone is detoxing as new alcohol brand billboards were few and far between, although Cîroc Vodka was still encouraging you to join their circle of drinkers and have some fun.

Travel and tourism billboards

There were lots of travel and tourism ads trying to catch passersby eyes this month, but I thought this outdoor ad campaign for North Lake Tahoe for ski season was a lot of fun, click through to check out the other creatives in the clever campaign.

Virgin America was taking flight in the skies of L.A. this month with another wave of their Radical Departure ad campaign and I always love how the airline's billboards feel youthful and cheeky, even when they feature older passengers.

American Airlines is also advertising heavily out-of-home at the moment it seems, with different ad creatives around town and this one even had a nod to awards season, 'Best Performance' indeed.

And it seems the established airline brand is trying to emulate that fun Virgin Airlines feel, at least with their ad copy. Although as they say, the proof is always in the pudding.

There's never a shortage of billboards for Las Vegas in L.A. with Sin City being so close for a debauched weekend getaway and there's certainly something very different about this sexy ad for the Delano all-suite hotel in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile closer to Hollywood it's time for Universal Studios to get locals through the door at this off-season time of year, with their buy a day and get 2015 free promotion to the theme park which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Technology billboards

In the world of technology and in time for skiing season, GoPro cameras has a super-sized new snowboarding creative in Hollywood to capitalize on this sporty time of year.

Finance billboards

And Wells Fargo is getting up-to-speed with the latest technology and partnering with Apple Pay to help customers make the most of their smartphones and make hassle-free payments.

Auto billboards

If the last couple of years are any indication Hollywood certainly does love a remake on the big screen, but the Fiat 500 is also hoping Los Angelenos will like their updated 1957 edition for nipping about town.

Health and cause-related billboards

In the world of health, here's a reminder to people who worry about how they take their coffee, obsess about gluten free diets, or kale smoothies, that there are more important things happening around the world like the Ebola epidemic in Western Africa. If you compare this Ebola death counter billboard to the one from last month, you'll see the fatalities are still increasing.

Another awareness campaign spied this month in the skies of Hollywood was this 'No More' billboard tackling domestic violence and sexual abuse against women, with a host of celebrity support from Marcia Gay Harden, Mariska Hargitay and Blair Underwood.

Also in the world of health and fitness, luxury gym Equinox is supporting the transgender visibility with this giant fashionista billboard along the Sunset Strip (not that far from their flagship location).

Dating billboards

Nowadays there's an app for everything, but dating apps seem to have been especially successful. Here's another Gaydar billboard to be found in the perfect location in the heart of West Hollywood's Boys Town.

Military billboards

An finally, following all the backlash over the movie American Sniper with many feeling that it is a form of pro-war propaganda, some people disagree and have paid for this 'Snipers save lives' billboard to voice the other side of the argument (and proving that there's money in guns).
